City Scents™ is a fictional air freshener brand inspired by the unmistakable aromas of New York City. Conceived as both satire and tribute, the series transforms the city’s less glamorous sensory experiences into collectible fragrance tags.

With scents such as Sun-Baked Garbage and Musty Pigeon, the project playfully reframes something often overlooked — or avoided — into a moment of humor and cultural commentary. The visual system mimics familiar hanging car fresheners while subverting expectations through bold typography and tongue-in-cheek naming. What began as an observational joke evolved into an ongoing series, with new “fragrances” released as the city continues to provide inspiration.
